Segun Awe’s Afritonas is a band that plays authentic African music known as Afritonas, which translates to “African Tones.” Segun Awe was born in a Christian home in Ayetoro Ekiti, Ekiti State, and began his musical journey at a tender age. The music they create is deeply rooted in grassroots traditions, offering unique rhythms that differ from the typical sounds associated with African music.

The band has been performing since 1990 and has released a total of six albums. The full ensemble consists of a 17-piece band, which includes dancers, while they also perform in smaller configurations of 7 to 10 pieces and as a 5-piece band. They have showcased their music at various events, including shows, concerts, beach concerts, clubs, weddings, birthday parties, and corporate end-of-year parties.
